Since the last message was posted in June
2007 things have moved on in a rather more natural and progressive
manner than I thought giving a far more indicative picture.
I have decided that there is no point in even attempting
to try using the more expensive pewter as having heard from
those who have that it it seems its rate of success is very
low with more costs, more work, and poorer results. Adding
to this the lack of availability of suitable mechanisms,
motors and other previously easy to obtain items means even
more reasons not to continue along these lines.
I did re-introduce some of the Conversion
kits but demand for these was so low it really has not
been worthwhile heating up the melting pot. To that end
although these will remain in the catalogue they will only
be available through the 'East
Lancs Model Tramway Supplies' as and when I have some
spare time to cast what I imagine may be of use along with
certain other items which I intend to continue with such
as the brass etched items and most of the overhead parts.
Another problem is the obtainability of some items at Trade
Prices as, for example, I have now run out of the fine brass
wire which I make trolleypoles and bracket arm support wires
from as the quamtity needed to order more, as I have plenty
of other sized wire, would mean a rather huge financial
outlay without any return for a considerable period of time.
The DVD side of the Business is progressing in a way that
is easy to cope with and also allows me sufficient free
time to continue editing all the many hours of filming that
I have done over the past few years. This will certainly
occupy me for a considerable period of time and is, again,
another reason for not wishing to 'slave over a melting
pot' and all that entails.
Full details of the DVD's are available on a separate dedicated
website - click here
to access
Whilst this may be annoying to some people it must be realised
that at some time we all need to slow down a bit and to
start enjoying what we do which is what I intend now doing.
If you have sent stamps for a Catalogue or an order for
goods that are discontinued/unavailable these will be returned
with my apologies for any inconvenience caused.
