Blackpool Trams

The original Blackpool tramway runs from Blackpool to Fleetwood on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire, England.  Blackpool has become synonymous with the tram, hence its popularity amongst model makers. Blackpool has the only surviving first-generation tramway in the United Kingdom and dates back to 1885.  Blackpool trams have been running for a very long time and are an integral part of the history and landscape of Blackpool, and is one of the oldest electric tramways in the world, which is why tram enthusiasts are keen to recreate this themselves.
